One of a Kind
I was thinking about the power of thinking this morning. I was reminded of the truth that our thoughts drive our actions. If you want to change the direction of your life or the actions that you find yourself taking you will have to first change your thinking. Think about it. If you wake up and brush your teeth you first had to have the thought that brushing your teeth was a good idea and you should do it. Then the action of teeth brushing follows. Okay, so am I trying to advocate brushing your teeth in this encouragement? No. Stick with me here for a minute. If we want to do something more complicated like start a business or solve a problem like finding the cure to cancer, we would have to give it a lot of thought. We would have to spend so much time in thought it would be nearly incalculable. The problem will dictate the amount of time we have to spend in thought based on how complicated the answer is. Simply put, the more complex, the more fantastic the action, the more thought-time is required.
With that in mind let me share a passage from Psalm 139 with you. “How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!” Did you catch that? God has had so many thoughts about you that they could not even be numbered! He made you so complex, so fantastic, so unique and special that his thoughts towards you are innumerable. I can see God looking at you right now shaking his head and thinking, “I have really outdone myself with this one!” You are a one of a kind, you are God’s answer to someone’s struggle today. You are the encouragement that a co-worker needs today. You are the hope that your family member needs today. You are the faithful employee that your employer needs today. Do you believe it? God already thought it, you just need to think it and begin to live it.
