The short version

This is my personal website. I collect only what I need to send you what you asked for and to understand how the site is used. I don’t sell your information, and you can unsubscribe or ask me to delete your information anytime.

What I collect and why

E-book downloads and the weekly post. When you fill out a download or signup form, you give me your first name and email address. These forms are run by HubSpot. I use your email to send the e-book you asked for. The form has a checkbox for my weekly post. If you leave it checked, I’ll also send you that weekly email. If you uncheck it, I’ll only send the e-book.
The contact form. When you send me a note, the contact form (run by Squarespace) collects your name, email, and whatever you choose to write. I use it only to read and answer your message.
Basic analytics and cookies. Squarespace, which hosts this site, uses cookies and collects basic visit data like pages viewed, the type of device and browser, and general location. That helps me see what’s useful. If I add HubSpot tracking later, HubSpot will also use cookies to connect page visits to form signups. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Who else sees it

Your information is stored with the services that run this site: Squarespace (website and contact form) and HubSpot (download forms and email). They handle it under their own privacy policies. I don’t sell, rent, or trade your information, and I don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Website analytics

This site is hosted on Squarespace. Squarespace collects basic, aggregated visitor data, such as pages viewed, referring sites, approximate location, browser and device type, and uses essential cookies to keep the site working and secure. I use these reports only to understand which pages are helpful. I don't sell this information. You can learn more in Squarespace's privacy policy at https://www.squarespace.com/privacy.

Unsubscribe anytime

Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you’re off the list. You can also ask me to unsubscribe you through the contact page.

Your choices

You can ask me what information I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Just send a note through the contact page. I’ll do my best to respond within 30 days.

How long I keep it

I keep your information while you’re subscribed or while we’re in touch, and delete it when you ask or when I no longer need it.

Kids

This site is meant for adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

I live and run this site in Texas, in the United States. Your information is stored in the United States, and this policy is governed by Texas and U.S. law.

If I change this policy, I’ll update the date at the top of this page. If you have questions, reach out through the contact page.
