Free e-book + fillable roadmap

Define what matters. Decide what winning looks like.

The Strategic Life Plan is a free, fillable workbook for making a strategic plan for your life. It takes the same thinking I use with organizations and puts it in plain English: Purpose, Direction, Priorities, and a Scoreboard. Sound familiar?

Busy is not the same as on purpose.

It’s easy to stay busy, get a lot done, and still drift from the life you want. Most of us have never written down what matters most.

  • You’re working hard, but you’re not sure it’s adding up to what matters.
  • Your yes and your no feel random instead of chosen.
  • You have goals, but no simple way to see whether you’re moving.
  • Life changed, and the old plan (if there was one) doesn’t fit anymore.

Who it’s for

  • Anyone who wants a clear, written plan for the next few years
  • People at a turning point in work or family
  • Leaders who use strategy at work and want it for their own lives

What it isn’t: a quick quiz. It asks honest questions and gives you room to answer them at your own pace.

“I have participated in several of his sessions and always leave with a plan of action that I can immediately apply to my business or my life.”

Why I made this

A note from Drew

Fort Worth, Texas

Drew T. Jackson smiling, in a close portrait

Dear friend,

I’ve spent more than 20 years developing leaders: on a Costco front end, as a pastor, as a consultant and trainer, in the classroom at Tarrant County College, and now as a director of organizational development and communications.

Along the way I’ve helped companies as large as $500 million plan their strategy. Every healthy organization I’ve worked with can answer a few questions. Why do we exist? Where are we going? What matters most this year? How will we know we’re winning?

Most people have never asked those questions about their own lives.

Most people don’t drift because they lack talent. They drift because they’ve never written down what matters most and what winning looks like.

The Strategic Life Plan borrows the same thinking organizations use and puts it in plain English for your life. You’ll name your core values and your purpose, picture the next three years, choose this quarter’s priorities, and keep score.

Give it one hour. Start with Part 1. You’ll walk away knowing what matters most to you, and that changes how you say yes and no.

Best regards,

Drew

A quick win

Try this today: name the values you won’t trade away

From Part 1. Core values are the principles you refuse to trade away for convenience, pressure, money, or short-term gain.

  1. List them.Write down the principles you’d protect even when it costs you something.
  2. Narrow it to three to five.If everything is a core value, nothing is.
  3. Define each one in practice.“Integrity means I tell the truth early, even when it makes me look less impressive.”
  4. Check this week against them.Look at your calendar. Where are your values showing up, and where are they missing?
23.1%sales growth, after two years stuck under 6%
